HDM Technology (Pty) Ltd is a registered Company and is in involved with a number of new exciting Research and Development Projects.
HDM Technology (Pty) Ltd is part of the HDM Group of Companies and focuses on the research and development of new business solutions and process development business opportunities for South Africa and the rest of the African Continent.
While HDM’s turnover has grown over the past 10 years at a constant rate, the rate of growth in different business units are significantly higher than in others.
As HDM Technology (Pty) Ltd is still a newly formed enterprise the Company is capitalizing on new market trends and opportunities and the forecast is that this subsidiary of the group will grow rapidly as the demand for its products increase and as new prototype products is developed.
One key factor for this potential growth rate is the shift in the marketplace to manage carbon emissions and the need for clean drinking water worldwide. The Government of most African Countries is committed to reduce their carbon footprint and to supply clean drinking water to their people.
This is a much-needed requirement for quality of life all over the continent as well as the rest of the world. Projects undertaken is focussed on the developement of an energy efficient processes to service rural communities.

ALTGen Project
We developed an independent power supply unit that is powered by sunlight or any heat source. We have built a prototype unit that is currently in the testing and final commissioning stage of development.
HDM Group funded the development from their own funding and will continue to invest more funding to build a bigger unit capable to supply power to a small village. We want to develop and build different units to a maximum of 1000 Kw unit with this funding if possible before we enter into the commercial market.
MGP Powerunit
We are very excited to bring this product to the market as we have now completed the proof of concept phase and the machine is performing as well as we have expected. The unit will be installed in a home and will be capable to generate enough power to run the complete dwelling.
The unit can either use a very small amount of power taken from the grid or run on alternative energy like a small PV panel. This unit will supply constant power to the house.
Bio-char Plant
We have designed and build a 3 cubic meter retort pyrolysis plant that is capable to produce 1 cubic meter of bio-char per cycle of 4 hours. Currently, we are building a continuous feed retort plant that will work in conjunction with the ALTgen.
The bio-char is used in the agricultural industry as well as for water purification plants. The potential of this product is huge.
Desalination Water Recovery Plant
We have designed and build a 1000 L Desalination Water Recovery Plant that is capable to produce 600 L of drinking water from every 1000 L that the plant process.
The plant also extracts the salt from the brine for commercial purposes. The plant can work with any ground contaminated water to extract the pure water from it and can be used to clean brack-water from boreholes to extract the salt from the water.
Methanoll Hydrogen Generator and Fu
We have started the design and development of a Methanol Hydrogen Generator unit that will produce Hydrogen from Organic materials.
The Hydrogen will then be used to drive a power generator to generate electricity.
Hydrogen Fuel Cell
We are also busy with the design and manufacturing of a Hydrogen Fuel Cell that will produce enough Hydrogen to drive a Diesel power plant as a fuel source build into modular units.
